With 2011 coming to an ever nearing close and because I am away on holiday from 30th December I decided I would do a post of my 2011 in a snapshot for your guys... We all get prepared for the next year but do we ever reflect on what has brought us there?
The start of 2011 saw me ill and bullied out of a job. With all the stress, strains, homophobic and mental bullying from other members of this particular company the start of 2011 was not a good one for me at all. I wanted to go home and sometimes wondered why I even moved to Sydney. I would come home in tears after I read the emails from staff, HR Managers and the Boss BUT this ended up being the best thing to happen of 2011 because I then had 28 days to find a new sponsor for my 457 visa or get my defacto PR visa in application.
April of 2011, not going to lie, the worst month I think I have ever had to date here in Australia lol.... I had to get all bank statements, pictures, flight details, holiday stamps and any kind of other info to show me and my partner had been together for at least 1 year (we had been together 4 years at the time). It is amazing what you realise you keep sub-conciously but my god it all come in very good use lol. April 26th saw me lodge my visa and it was the best day EVER. With the lodgement saw another hiccup, I couldn't work as my 457 was still in date so no bridging visa was given, I could have cancelled my 457 off my own back and then given a bridging visa E which mean I could work if I proved financial hardship but I wasn't allowed to leave the country and this was an issue as I was going home in September for my sisters wedding and my best friends wedding. With this in mind myself and my partner said the best think was not to work - YAY!!

July 2011 saw my grant of my PR Defacto visa and that was a very memorable time. I remember that day like it was yesterday. Myself, my partner and my mum took a trip to melbourne for a week and then me and 12 others met at out friends beautiful B'n'B for Christmas in July. We had a fantastic lamb spit with all of us making stuff and putting in such a fab effort. I went back to our little cottage - there was 6 cottages on the land and 1 big house where the owners lived a very different style of B'n'B - I then decided to look at the VEVO online checker - this was around midnight on the friday and I was a little drunk to - all I saw was indefinite stay in Australia, and I cried and threw my phone on the sofa my partner asked what happened and I told him and we both where emotional - after all that went on it was the best news. My mum was in the next cottage so I ran in and told her and she to got emotional the best news ever!!!
This then meant I could work again, no problems no issues was FAB. I started a new job with the best atmosphere I have come across in recruitment but due to reasons I left this company. I have since been working for a fun, energetic and efficient company in a completely different industry and having a ball.
2011 saw some pretty rough times and was a bad year for me but amongst all the above I had seen Elton John at the Hunter Valley for the weekend, an awesome boat party for Melbourne Cup Day, my mates 40th Casino Party at a hired venue (truly amaze party), Eddie Izzard at Opera House, Melbourne Trip, Boat Party for friend engagement, My Birthday, MEETING LADY GAGA IS DEFFO A 2011 HIGHLIGHT!!!! lol plus more!!
